Operation Mountain Lion

Area of Operations : Narrow Water NI

The Azmeni Resistance Front, a formidable fighting force who have led a guerrilla campaign against state forces and their allies in the northern territories of Azmenistan for three years, have launched a recent spate of large scale attacks targeting Azmeni Army and ISAF forces.

The ARF have become increasingly violent since Azmenistan’s army began a campaign last year which saw them making significant territorial gains inside areas traditionally held by ARF affiliated tribes. The Azmeni states commander in chief has requested the assistance of ISAF forces to launch a targeted campaign to severely weaken ARF influence in the region and bring some key members of the organisation to justice.

Yusufan Market, located high in the Mountains of northern Azmenistan is a local commerce hub, which directly finances and supports the Azmeni Resistance Front according to ISAF Intelligence reports. ISAF command believe a military presence in the area could seriously disrupt ARF activity and have assembled a heavily armed task force to insert into the AO.

The ISAF Task Force aims to occupy the abandoned military outpost code named ‘Titan’ which had been overrun by the ARF at the start of their campaign and has been abandoned since. Once Outpost Titan has been secured, ISAF forces will use the location as a forward operating base to conduct ground operations with the aim of disrupting the illegal drug and arms trade in Yusufan Market. Once the Market Town is secure, search and destroy missions will immediately follow to cripple the rebels operational capabilities. Operation Mountain Lion is a go…

What to expect:

This is a force on force 24 hour Military Simulation exercise.

There are a variety of different roles in this event primarily focused on conventional warfare, including reconnaissance, patrols as well as coordinated assaults on enemy positions. Do not expect a skirmish style game with constant action. With this in mind please bring the right attitude to this event. Do not arrive expecting to go off task in search of a firefight, if this is your attitude then please do not book a ticket. We expect participants to follow the instructions from the chain of command to ensure a realistic and enjoyable event for all involved.

Certain camping areas are considered patrol harbors, these are in game areas where eye protection must be worn at all times, including sleeping. Units in an “off game” campsite must have magazines out and guns on safe.

Expect to stay in the AO until EndEx.

Note on uniforms for this event.

Factions in this event are distinguished primarily by headgear and uniform. We expect you to make a decent effort with your uniform to avoid friendly fire incidents as well as looking the part of your chosen faction.

Pay close attention to our distinction between a uniform ‘requirement’ and uniform ‘recommendation’.

All factions are permitted to wear a helmet at night for the purpose of using night vision. If helmets are not your listed faction headgear you may only wear one at night if using a night vision device.
