Operation Irontide

24 Hour MilSim

Area of operations – Narrow Water NI

Background:

After months of winter stalemate following Operation Bastion, the frozen Kardivkan front is beginning to thaw. As the weather breaks, NATO forces have pushed reconnaissance elements deeper into the contested zone and deployed mobile rocket artillery systems closer and closer, threatening Chendekan held territory. These units are believed to be operating systems similar to the M142 HIMARS and M270 Multiple Launch Rocket Systems, both highly mobile launchers capable of firing precision guided rockets from kilometres away before relocating within minutes. Their ‘shoot-and-scoot’ tactics make them extremely difficult to track, allowing them to strike targets, reposition rapidly, and avoid counter-battery fire.

Over the winter these rocket systems have served a dual purpose. First, they have been used to strike Chendekan staging areas and forward infrastructure, disrupting attempts to regroup after Bastion. But they have also been positioned as part of NATO’s response to the increasing use of Shahed-type drones by Chendeka by launching precision rocket strikes against drone launch sites, control vehicles, and suspected staging points before attack waves can be launched.

Chendekan High Command has responded by launching Operation Irontide.

The primary objective is clear: locate and destroy the NATO rocket batteries before they can continue interfering with Chendekan operations. Reconnaissance teams will push forward to track NATO forward observers, identify firing positions, and guide assault units or counter-battery strikes onto the launchers. Eliminating even one of these systems would significantly reduce NATO’s ability to strike deep into Chendekan territory.

At the same time, the war in the air is becoming just as important as the fight on the ground. Over the past year Chendekan forces have gained a reputation for highly effective drone operations, using reconnaissance and strike drones to track enemy patrols and direct fires. Recently, NATO reconnaissance teams uncovered intelligence pointing to a forward drone manufacturing and modification facility operating close to the front line. A small, but critical workshop ,it is believed to be an active facility for assembling and adapting drones for immediate battlefield use. NATO planners see it as a high-value target, and specialised teams will attempt to locate and destroy the facility before more systems can be deployed.

For Chendeka, protecting this capability is essential. Their advanced drone network has allowed them to maintain a tactical advantage on the battlefield holding off any NATO incursions over the winter months. Chendekan units will therefore be tasked with securing their dispersed drone launch sites, ensuring operators can continue flying missions while preventing NATO forces from discovering or sabotaging the network.

If Chendeka succeeds in knocking out NATO’s rocket artillery and protecting their drone network, they will regain the initiative along the front lines. But, if NATO can destroy the drone facility and keep its long-range fires in play, Chendeka’s momentum could stall before the next phase of the war even begins.
